Seafood Processing Industry

The seafood processing industry is one of Vietnam's key industries, making a significant contribution to the national economy. With a coastline extending more than 3,260 km and a dense network of rivers and canals, Vietnam has abundant seafood resources, providing favorable conditions for the development of seafood processing and export industries.

Phuc Tam Loi Seafood Import-Export Company

Established in the early 2000s, the company aims to provide fresh, safe seafood that meets international standards. Seafood Freezing Process

  • Harvesting and Transportation: Seafood is harvested fresh from the sea or aquaculture farms.
  • Transportation: After harvesting, seafood must be quickly transported to processing facilities under cold conditions to prevent spoilage.
  • Preprocessing and Cleaning: The seafood is washed with cold water to remove impurities and dirt, and non-edible parts are removed before cutting into appropriate portions (such as fillets, chunks).
  • Chilling and Pre-Freezing: Seafood is chilled to near freezing temperatures to slow down microbial activity and chemical processes. This step helps prepare the seafood for the official freezing process, reducing the formation of large ice crystals and preserving the structure and quality of the meat.
  • Quick Freezing (IQF): Each piece of seafood is rapidly frozen individually, usually at temperatures below -30°C to -40°C. This method helps preserve the texture, color, flavor, and nutritional value of the seafood.
  • Packaging and Storage: After freezing, the seafood is vacuum-packed or packed in protective packaging to avoid oxidation and moisture loss. The product is stored in cold storage at temperatures ranging from -18°C to -25°C to ensure quality during storage and transportation.
  • Inspection and Sterilization: Quality checks are conducted, including sensory evaluation (color, flavor) and microbiological testing. Some products may undergo high-temperature sterilization before final packaging to ensure food safety.
  • Distribution and Consumption: The products are distributed to wholesalers, supermarkets, and retail outlets both domestically and internationally. Frozen seafood is ready for consumption after careful thawing.
  • The freezing process requires strict control over factors such as temperature and time to ensure the final product meets the highest quality standards and is safe for consumers.

Quality Standards

Frozen and canned products from Vietnam have increasingly improved in quality, thanks to the application of international standards such as ISO, HACCP, and BRC. These standards not only help products meet the strict requirements of export markets but also boost consumer confidence. Vietnamese frozen and canned products stand out for their fresh flavor, natural color, and high nutritional value. These products have established a strong position in the international market, directly competing with products from other countries.

The Role of 2dhC

2dh Commercial and Investment Consultant (2dhC) acts as a connecting hub between manufacturers and the market, helping Vietnamese canned and frozen products access new markets and expand distribution networks. 2dhC also assists in identifying investment opportunities, providing training, and developing technology to improve production capacity and product quality. Additionally, 2dhC helps businesses meet international standards, thereby boosting exports and increasing the presence of Vietnamese canned foods in the global market. Through these activities, 2dhC not only fosters economic growth for businesses but also enhances the image of Vietnamese canned foods, asserting their quality and safety in the eyes of international consumers.
